From the archives

The First Alpine Rogaine (Snogaine) was held on 3rd September 1981 in central Victoria. The main obstacle was a dam and lake barring the way to the start. It had a thin crust of ice, below which water had been drained for hydroelectricity necessitating a long trip around the safer margin.

New Zealand

A clarification regarding Newsletter 85, the forthcoming 24-hour Roxburgh Rogaine will be the first NZ Championships under the recently formed New Zealand Rogaining Association, but also the 4th NZ Rogaining Championships.
